Dato’ Dr. Noorul Ameen Mohamed Ishack is the Founder of Qualitas Health. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Mysore, India in 1976. He completed a course in Sports Medicine in 1998.
After his graduation, he returned to Malaysia and served the Ministry of Health in various hospitals. From 1981 until 1984, he joined the Malaysian Armed Forces as a Regimental Medical Officer. During that period, he was actively involved in Sports Medicine. In 1984, he left the government service to seek experience in the private sector by joining Kumpulan Medic (Kuala Lumpur) as an assistant physician. He was appointed as the Managing Director and the Chairman of Kumpulan Medic (Kuala Lumpur) from 1993 to 1996. He was appointed to the Board of Selangor Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd in 1997 to oversee the development of the company and was part of the team which developed Selangor Specialist Hospital. He continued to be on the Board and held the position of the Medical Director of Selangor Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd until 2006.
In 1997, he founded Qualitas Health to establish an integrated network of private GP clinics in Malaysia and has been instrumental in charting the development of Qualitas Health since then. In 2003, Qualitas Health started its overseas expansion in primary healthcare with its first centre in India.
Dato’ Dr. Ameen was recognised in 2006 as the Chief Executive Officer of the Year by Commerce-Ventures and was also shortlisted as one of the top nominees for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year award for 2011. He is currently a member of Malaysian Medical Association, Academy of Family Physicians and Koperasi Doktor Malaysia Berhad.
